As others were - I have not seen
As others saw - I could not bring
My passions from a common spring -
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow - I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone -
And all I lov’d - I lov’d alone -
Then - in my childhood - in the dawn
Of a most stormy life - was drawn
From ev’ry depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still -
From the torrent, or the fountain -
From the red cliff of the mountain -
From the sun that ’round me roll’d
In its autumn tint of gold -
From the lightning in the sky
As it pass’d me flying by -
From the thunder, and the storm -

Maurice White of Earth Wind & Fire was so touched by "The Prophet" that he named his only son Gibran White. May be spelled differently but definitely named after the author. Maurice White is the reason I am going to purchase this book. RIP Maurice White!!!
I know well your defeat is sweet I have tasted it's sweetness , but time has passed and I know see defeat or victory they are all the same the one who finishes life race is victory in the trust sense in other words the one who come to understand life has won victory is not some vain glory in a battle.

My life now feels like a complete graveyard of buried hopes, just as Anne would say. I felt so hopeless after I failed in so many of my dreams, had been in bed helpless for almost two days but I didn't want to end up here. I know I have to do something, I have to change. I hope I'd get through this depressing days of my life. I will work through it. I will try. I hope to come back here one day and finally say I made it. I wish for no more gloomy sundays in afternoons.

I found this in the middle of chemo. I would barely be able to check my mail and could see St. Helen’s, which I had climbed before. I then vowed to climb it again!

Oh defeat ! Defeat I know where you are oh defeat defeat hidden in a free child that live in a far Defeat defeat I see every day and night sweet making of a crazy lust in me oh defeat defeat you are hidden in that long hair between short white legs!
Here chance means opportunity to flourish in life with various excellences in life.The poet is probably losing them in the difficulties or adversities of his life.But,even being severed in fate, he decides not to give up.
Failure was just a lesson....not an ending.
I dislike kahlil as much as paulo coelho or that other stupid book called the little prince. boring af.
